Women's Euro 2022: England crowned champions

England has been crowned UEFA Women's Euro 2022 winners after defeating Germany 2-1 in the final at Wembley Stadium.

The Lionesses took the lead through Ella Toone in the 62nd minute, but Germany equalized through Lina Magull eight minutes later. The match went to extra time, and Chloe Kelly scored the winning goal for England in the 110th minute.

England's victory is their first major women's football title, and they have now won all three of the major tournaments they have hosted. The Lionesses also won the 1984 European Championship and the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Germany was looking to win their ninth European Championship title, but they were ultimately defeated by a determined England side.

The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd of 87,192 at Wembley Stadium. The attendance was a record for a women's football match in England.

England's victory is a major moment for women's football in the country. It is hoped that the Lionesses' success will inspire more girls to take up the sport and help to raise the profile of women's football in England.
